The original encyclopedic 250,000 word Talking Dictionary. Talking Dictionary is a speech enabled 250,000-word English dictionary and thesaurus. The dictionary is based on the Wordnet 2.1 database and contains over 250,000 words.
These include historical figures, slang and jargon. Talking Dictionary has been designed for use by the non-sighted person. All of the controls are easily remembered keyboard shortcuts and it is a very fast and easy program to use. Talking Dictionary is designed to be used as a standalone program. What this means is that you do not need any kind of screen reading software or anything else to use this program. Note that for a limited time we will be offering our fully featured Talking Event Reminder away for free when you buy the CD version of this product.

Fully updated with 8500 new word definitions and synonyms from Princeton University's dictionary database.
Can be used within other Windows programs, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Notepad, etc.
Can be minimized to system tray for quick and easy use.
Spell checker rewritten and improved.
Can be used to search for words when letters are missing from the input. For example, entering ch**se will return cheese, choose, etc.
For partially sighted users the text size can easily be adjusted.
If you have a screen reader you prefer to use Talking Dictionary can be used with it. Note that Talking Dictionary does not require a screen reader as it has its own built in speech functions.
Talking Dictionary CD version codes with new voices that can easily be installed. If you prefer to use tab navigable button controls as opposed to keystrokes, Talking Dictionary can be set to speak the name of each control that has focus. This mimics the behavior of a screen reader. Talking Dictionary comes with a standard Windows Help file, a plain text help file and a rich text format user manual. RWF TALKING SOFTWARE Company (RWF TALKING SOFTWARE) hereby gives you a non-exclusive license to use the software Talking Dictionary (the Software).
For evaluation, the license is granted, and is time-limited.
For registered release you have to pay a license fee, by following instructions prompted by the program.
You may:
- use the Software on any single computer;
- use the Software on a second computer so long as the primary user of each copy is the same person and more than one copy is not simultaneously;
- copy the Software for archival purposes, provided any copy contains all of the original Software's proprietary notices.
You may not:
- permit other individuals to use the Software except under the terms listed above;
- modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble (except to the extent applicable laws specifically prohibit such restriction),
- create derivative works based on the Software;
- copy the Software (except as specified above);
- rent, lease, transfer or otherwise transfer rights to the Software;
- remove any proprietary notices or labels on the Software.
TERMINATION.
The license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with the limitations described above. On termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software and Documentation.
