PDF417 Barcode ActiveX Control. PDF417, or Portable Data File 417, is a two-dimensional stacked bar code symbology capable of encoding over a kilobyte of data per label. This is important for applications where a bar code must be more than merely an identifier such as an index to reference a database.
The "portable data file" approach is well suited to applications where it is impractical to store item information in a database or where the database is not accessible when and where the item?s bar code is read. Because a PDF417 symbol can store so much data, item data such as the content of shipping manifest or equipment maintenance history can be carried on the item, without requiring access to a remote database.
Our PDF417-ActiveX Control has all the features necessary to easily add professional quality barcodes to any Windows application including Web pages, database reporting and labeling, product packaging, document tracking, postal bar coding and special purpose barcode labeling applications.
It is an extremely easy and powerful tool that will work flawlessly with any Windows application that supports ActiveX technology including Visual Basic, Visual FoxPro, C++, Internet Explorer Web pages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.
Simply insert the PDF417 Bar Code ActiveX Control into your application and specify a few properties in the properties window and your desired bar codes will be generated automatically.
The PDF417-ActiveX Control supports data binding so you can bind fields in a database to the Control and generate barcodes for each data record automatically. The data binding capability makes it trivially easy to produce reports and labels containing bar codes using any database that supports ActiveX technology including Microsoft Access or Visual Basic. |

END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR RKD SOFTWARE ("RKD")
IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY: This RKD End-User License
Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (either an
individual or a single entity) and RKD Software for the
RKD Software software product identified above, which includes
computer software and associated media and printed materials,
and may include "online" or electronic documentation ("SOFTWARE
PRODUCT" or "SOFTWARE"). By installing, copying, or otherwise
using the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, you agree to be bound by the terms
of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, do
not install, copy, or use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
Single User License
The Single User License allows use of the Software for one effective user in your organization. The number of effective users for software licensing is determined by the method defined below that returns the greatest number.
The number of users contributing to the data that is printed with the Software. For example, 20 users entering or editing data on a host where only 1 program prints barcodes to 1 printer, would require a license for 20 effective users. According to the multiple user licensing below, this would only require 2 Single User Licenses to be purchased.
The number of users that have the Software installed on their CPU.
The number of printers that are being printed to with the Software. For example, 1 user printing to 5 printers would require a license for 5 effective users. According to the multiple user licensing below, 2 Single User Licenses would need to be purchased.
Multiple User Licensing with the Single User License:
If multiple Single User Licenses of the same product are purchased, the effective number of licensed users for Software is determined by the following:
1 Single User License Purchased = 1 licensed user
2 Single User Licenses Purchased = 25 licensed users
3 Single User Licenses Purchased = 100 licensed users
5 Single User Licenses Purchased = Developer License Granted for 10,000 licensed users
Developer use with the Single User License:
The Single User License also allows one developer to integrate the Software into the organization's applications provided that the developer (1) ensures the Software is licensed according to the multiple user licensing described above and (2) does not distribute the Software outside the organization. If You have more than one developer that will be developing applications using the Software, You will need to purchase a Developer License for each additional developer.

Developer License
The Developer License allows one developer royalty-free distribution of the Software internally (in the same organization) and externally (outside the organization) up to a limit of 10,000 user licenses, provided You adhere to the following distribution terms:
Distribution of End User Applications: End-user applications marketed by BarcodeTools.com, such as the image generator that make use of this Software may not be distributed alone under this license.
Internal Distribution Terms: The Software may be installed and used by up to ten thousand (10,000) effective users in that organization. If use exceeds 10,000 effective users, additional Developer Licenses are required; each Developer License purchased will allow an additional 10,000 users.
External Distribution Terms: Allows the developer to rent, lease or distribute up to ten thousand (10,000) licenses of the Software outside Your organization bundled with an application, provided You adhere to the following terms:
You may not resell, rent, lease or distribute the Software alone. The Software must be distributed as a component of an application and bundled with an application or with the application's installation files. The Software may only be used as part of, and in connection with, the bundled application.
You may not resell, rent, lease or distribute Software in any way that would compete with BarcodeTools.com.
If You also distribute the Software internally within your organization, You shall deduct the quantity distributed within your organization from the total number that can be distributed outside your organization. For example, if You use 4,000 licenses internally, You may only distribute up to 6,000 licenses outside your organization.
The 10,000 user licenses are used by the number of users Your bundled product is licensed for with the exception that if your product is licensed for more than 100 users per copy, only 100 licenses of the Developer License are used per copy distributed. For example, if you distribute an application licensed for 25 users, then that application used 25 of the available 10,000 licenses. If you distribute an application that is licensed to be used on a server or host system in such a way that 300 users use it, then that application used 100 of the available 10,000 user licenses. If you distribute 1 copy of an application licensed for 1 user, then only 1 license is used.
If distribution of Your application exceeds 10,000 licenses, additional Developer Licenses are required; each Developer License purchased will allow distribution of an additional 10,000 licenses. Royalty-free, unlimited distribution is granted after purchasing three Developer Licenses or the Unlimited Developer License.
A valid copyright notice must be provided within the user documentation, start-up screen or in the help-about section of your application that specifies BarcodeTools.com, as the provider of the Software bundled with Your application, for example: "[your application name] contains barcode generation components licensed from BarcodeTools.com. These components may only be used as part of and in connection with [your application name]."
You agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend BarcodeTools.com and its suppliers from and against any and all claims or lawsuits including attorney's fees that arise or result from the use or distribution of Your bundled application.

5 Developer License
The 5 Developer License grants the rights of the Developer License for up to 5 developers and 20,000 user licenses. This license is also granted if two Developer Licenses are purchased.

Unlimited Developer License
The Unlimited Developer License grants the rights of the developer license for an unlimited number of developers and an unlimited number of user licenses. This license is also granted if three Developer Licenses licenses are purchased.

Single Server License
The Single Server License allows use of the Software on one (1) server in your organization, where a single server may have only 1 CPU and up to 100 unique user accesses to the Software per day. A Single Server License is required for each additional server. Additional Single Server Licenses may also be obtained for the same server to increase the requirements. For example, 2 Single Server Licenses allow up to 2 CPUs and up to 200 unique user accesses to the Software per day on the same server. |
