Description
Use this tool to manage and track project requests including; change requests, problem reports, software bugs and incidents. Supports PRINCE 2 and integrates with MS Visual SourceSafe.
Key features include:
Define the projects against which you wish to manage requests.
Define request types for this project. If you opt not to define project specific request types then Fast Track will use those that are associated with the Default project.
For each request type define the request work flow.
Requests have a number of associated attributes (Component, Severity, Platform, Release, Status). You can define project specific attributes or you can use those that are associated with the Default project.
Fast Track provides comprehensive commands to enable you to manger request transitions. These commands include:
Progress: Used to move the request to the next state. Fast Track will determine the next assignee and the prompt to issue to the user.
Regress: Used to move the request to the previous state.
Hold: Place the request on Hold.
Reject: Place a request in Rejected State.
Assign: Assign the request to a new user without modifying the current state.
You can define a mandatory assignment and associate this with a state change.
You can define a mandatory prompt and associate this with a state change.
You can configure Fast Track to use Email notification. An Email is sent when a request is assigned to a user.
Integrate with MS SourceSafe. If this feature is enabled then SourceSafe users will be presented with list of assigned requests. The user will not be allowed to add or modify a SourceSafe file without selecting a valid request. Fast Track will also apply a label to the SourceSafe version identifying the request against which the change was made.
Requests can be associated with a release. You can use this feature to track the scope of a release and the status of all requests that are part of the release.
